My human, her boyfriend, and I flew to Vancouver for 6 days last week! The last time I was there was in the late winter of 2017, 8 years ago! They chose the slowest travel days, so it didn’t take too long to get through customs. But I still made friends at the baggage claim.
The first night, we actually didn’t stay in Vancouver. We went to Langley, a little ways east of there.
It turned out to be a mini-suite with a small kitchen area.
We had to leave the next day, unfortunately! because I loved having the extra room. But I did make friends with one of the hotel employees while we were checking out.
Our next hotel was in the Yaletown district of Vancouver. My human felt there was something really familiar about it…and discovered it was the same hotel we’d stayed in last time! They had just changed the name and the decor.
This time, we stayed on the top floor, and the view was awesome.
Among other things, the room decor included this cat sized Marshall amp! It looked like it was actually functional. Why it was there was a mystery.
It had a pretty large living room and office area, with this huge sofa! You saw the desk the other day. My human’s boyfriend took over the sofa, and had bunches of papers and notes all over the table in front of it.
It was a bit chilly in Vancouver while we were there, so my human pulled out a blanket. It turned out to be the softest, most comfy blanket ever! I pretty much adopted it.
If you were wondering why we were up there, it wasn’t for a vacation. The humans were meeting with the BC Film Commission and scouting locations to possibly shoot a film in the area. They were all over Vancouver and parts of Langley to see locations that the commission had already sent for consideration. They also gave them this goodie bag. It included some gourmet nuts too, but those were already eaten before my human took this photo.
They also stopped at a nearby grocery and came back with a few snacks, including this cookie.
Even though 6 days seemed like a long trip before we left, it really seemed short by the end! My human was worried about going through U.S. customs, but she made it through without any problems. Once we were at the gate, we saw a dog that was the same color as me!
And three hours later, we were back in Los Angeles! I got to watch the luggage being unloaded from the plane. And of course one of the baggage people saw me, and started pointing and waving! What can I say, I make friends everywhere I go.
